1. Let`s talk about friendship and relationship with friends. What’s your best friend like?

To begin with I’d like to stress that friendship is very important for me. In my opinion, friends make life interesting and enjoyable. Friends provide us with companionship, and they can be a source of help when we have a problem. Friends are people with whom we can share common interest or hobby.

I’d like to tell you about my best friend. Her name is … . I have known her since our primary school. From our appearances we are total opposites. She has blond hair, hazel eyes, full lips, a snub nose and a broad smile. She is tall and slim, because she goes in for sports. I wouldn’t say the way we dress is not very different, but of course we have some special preferences in our clothes. I think her clothes are a little bit funky. As for her personality she is outspoken and outgoing. Nevertheless she is quite reasonable. It’s her best quality, I think. Besides she’s got a good sense of humor. She always has a witty joke for a situation. So we always have fun. She is the kind of person that likes to start the party. She is very kind and always ready to give me a helping hand. She is honest, and I can trust her. I can tell her my innermost secrets. We consider each other’s feelings and don’t want to hurt each other. Our hobbies are along the same lines. We love sports, music, good films, reading fashion magazines, hanging around with our friends, surfing the Internet and that sort of stuff. My best friend means a lot to me. I don’t know what I would do without her.

To sum it up I’d like to say that friendship is a real treasure. Lucky you are if you’ve found a good friend.

2. Can you rely on your best friend? Why (not)?

I am happy to have a wonderful friend. I always can rely on her. She is my adviser in difficult situations and my support when I have problems. When I need some help, she will help me out. I am sure that my secrets are safe with her.

3. What questions do you usually ask when you want to get acquainted with someone?

1) What’s your name?

2) Where are you from?

3) Where do you study?

4) What is your hobby?

5) How do you usually spend your holidays?

4. What can you advise a teenager who wants to make friends in a new school?

If you want to make friends you should be open-minded, friendly and positive. You should be polite and try to understand others and to be easy to understand yourself. You should find something that you like and then you can find friends by interests. Don’t be shy and don’t be afraid to communicate with people. Don’t speak too much about yourself.

5. They say: “If you haven’t learnt the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learnt anything”. What do you think about this?

I do agree with this saying. Friendship teaches us not to be selfish and egoistic. It also teaches how to be supportive and understanding. If you get these qualities, you will be a pleasant person and your classmates, teachers will appreciate you.
